Conduction of heat - Elementary Science

More information about Heat flow.

Conduction: The process by which heat is transmitted through an object from one point to another point.

Homework on Heat & Temperature

Task:
Give an example of a real life experience or encounter to show that heat flow has taken place. Explain the what has happened with the concepts you have learnt.

E.g. Dipping a metal spoon into cold water.

The metal spoon cools after a few minutes because it has lost heat to the cold water. Hence, the cold water will experience a rise in temperature. Both metal spoon and he cold water will reach thermal equilibrium, i.e. same temperature. In addition, the object also experience heat loss to the surroundings.

You will be awarded accordingly.
